Update: it worked!!! Presenting Brutalist Menorah 2024 (well, 5785 I guess).
As you can see I'm still not good at concrete, so it's a good thing I'm okay with a "weathered" look. I already want to try making another one, with a taller pillar!
All it needs is some graffiti.
after making some mini mockups with homemade play-dough, i think the new brutalist menorah i'm making will be based on an expressway bent, inspired by the ones left along Lake Shore Blvd. that supported elevated expressway off-ramps:
