The modern stuff in #KettlesYard ’s “Material Power: Palestinian Embroidery” is fascinating too. And, as someone who (problematically?) wears a keffiyeh, Khalil Rabah’s deconstruction of one especially grabbbed my attention. #Cambridge https://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/events/material-power-palestinian-embroidery/

I visited #KettlesYard ’s “Material Power: Palestinian Embroidery” exhibition on Saturday. It is of course a deeply political show, as it has to be. But it’s beautiful too. Ooo, and do watch the interviews video! #Cambridge https://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/events/material-power-palestinian-embroidery/

A birthday card - now framed - painted for my son. Inspired by objects at our favourite museum, Kettles Yard.

Happy memories of quiet afternoons spent in Kettles Yard back in the early '90s. That was the old KY, haven't been there since the rebuild. Such a serene place of art and light.

And there was a lovely series of chamber music concerts on Thursday evenings, I remember the Kronos Quartett.

It's warm in #KettlesYard
Overall, #KettlesYard “Paint Like the Swallow Sings Calypso” was a lot less colourful than I perhaps naively imagined it would be (on such an icy-cold day) – but it was colourful stuff that drew me in to its themes. 2/2 #Cambridge
Yesterday went and saw #KettlesYard “Paint Like the Swallow Sings Calypso”. The juxtapositions between the Caribbean inspired art and other art from the university’s collections was good. 1/2 #Cambridge
At Kettles Yard even the light switches are interesting #KettlesYard #Cambridge

Loved 'Paint Like the Swallow Sings Calypso', now open
Kettle's Yard in #Cambridge, & the connections it draws between celebrations of carnival across history. Great selection of works from the Fitzwilliam Museum collection, as well as the works of featured artists Paul Dash, Errol Lloyd and John Lyons.
