What to say about the #KensingtonSound sessions with this amazing #EighthStreetOrchestra I somehow progenated, and I can't very well leak my dad's-copy Tascam record before the LP comes out, but as a teaser could I offer this stolen moment from the Live Session where, due to tape change realities, we could offer KS to tell you a bit about themselves. Support them or my ghost will haunt you.

Remember when I told you our sax player in the Eighth Street Orchestra was often in the jazz press? And absolutely deservedly so! It was years ago I took a visiting college jazz prof to see a young Patrick's quintet and his comment was "I thought I was in NYC"

btw, you missed his EPIC piano cadenza at our #KensingtonSound live session last night

some background on eighthstreetorchestra.com and why you might want to be in on it:

Our first paying gig was in Sept of 2010 for the Chatsworth Fall Fair ๐Ÿ˜Š

Kae Murphy, tp/cl - you may know Kae from BadBadNotGood, Maria Schneider, or numerous other touring bands.

Patrick Smith, ts/pno - Pat is well known in the Canadian jazz scene, his quintet frequently at #TheRex and other spots, often featured in the jazz press.

Nolan Murphy, tb/voc: Nolan you do know, if not from his SHOUT! the Band, then you've seen him in just about every brass festival. His list of collaborations is a who's-who of international musics.

Matt Caldwell, bass: Matt is also the upright bass you see everywhere, and regularly at the Cameron with his Dog House Orchestra.

Patricio Llovet, dr/perc: Patricio is our percussion master, blending our pan-american rhythms smooth as silk or ice-hot, take your pick.

Me, banjo/guitar: who often asks myself, well, how did I get here?

The Studio: #JazzInToronto legend, #KensingtonSound 100% analog!
