Installed Linux Mint 22.3 yestereve on my third 128 GB M.2 stick, and I'm typing in it now. Not a complete install, since I have more programs to add, more config to do. But I'm going to do another one, because some things went awry, while others went better.
Awry: I forgot to wipe the SSD before installing LM, and now I have a grub menu on startup, even though I let the installation overwrite everything on the drive, so there's nothing else to boot to. I don't like that, even though it's mostly cosmetic.
Better: I usually install #Kate text editor from the repo, which has version 23.08.5. It has some oddity where emojis lose their color. (See post toot·cat/@bok/115930009594975107 .) This time I installed the #KDEKate flatpak, 26.04.1, and emojis appear properly in it.
So I'm swapping sticks again, and will do a wipe and reinstall on a different drive.
