Although various angels and Jesus himself regularly tell people 'fear not' in the synoptic gospels, in John, this is a less-used line. Instead, the risen Jesus meets his disciples when they are hiding away in fear and says, 'Peace be with you.'

Perhaps the good news is not that we will be insulated from scary stressful circumstances, but that we can find #peace even when things look bleakest.
