I can't claim any sort of copyright on this! An original photo (actually a photo of a photo) of the 'Jarrow March' in Chester-le-Street Co. Durham in October 1936.
Using 'GIMP' I Blended it with an image (From Google Streetview) to show the difference now that over 80 years have elapsed. I was sent a photo of the photo, as my Grandfather is in the photo, standing on the left (with the fantastic hat!) and on crutches as he'd lost a leg in the first world war. #history #1930s #jarrow #chester-le-street #durham #countydurham #jarrowmarch

At first the marchers thought the Dog would soon wander off, but after about five miles, realised he was going to stick with them, so they took good care of him as they went.
