@neald what surprises me is not that the fire happened which I suppose is not entirely impossible, but that there seem to be no diesel backup generators for an airport of that size.
I can tell you that our wee airport on the #isleofbarra  is not only older than Heathrow, but is protected by diesel generator back-up.

And we only have to deal with a couple of flights a day !

But of course, our airport was not privatised. It is run by the Scottish government.

It is not often we get days like this on #IsleofBarra. The #snow has stayed and got deeper. Looks like there is plenty in the sky too and some wonderful clouds! Unfortunately I have on online meeting this morning but will definitely be getting out there this afternoon.
