Today, XR groups from around Oxfordshire held a picket action outside Zurich Insurance in Chipping Norton as part of global action.

Besides Lloyds of London, Zurich is the only major European insurance company still insuring new fossil fuel projects.

Rebels with @SR_TurtleIsland attempted to meet with management at AIG in San Francisco, CA. Security tried to contact them, but no one answered the phone, so we weren’t admitted into the building. We held a rally in a nearby public plaza with other local climate activists. 💪

INSURE OUR FUTURE

Rebels are targeting insurance companies in both the City of London and across the UK as part of a Global Week of Action in over 30 countries around the world.

These actions will pressure all insurers to rule out covering fossil fuel expansion, as well as targeting specific companies to stop insuring ‘carbon bomb’ projects, which collectively produce the equivalent of 18 years of current global CO2 emissions.
