In wilderness areas on the Western border you can still find walls of old Finnish buildings (houses?) embedded in modern housing, and medieval burial grounds are hidden in birch groves. I can't get used to the fact that I see burials ≈ XV century, which, most likely, no one touched (and do not need to).

One of the boundary stones between Sweden and Russia, erected after the Treaty of Stolbovo (hello @[email protected]!). The stone is supposed to have a cross and three crowns inscribed on it, but as time goes on it's getting harder and harder to find, especially under the snow.
