@scott @ai6yr @tomjennings #IneverDoAnything but my plans to one day create my own Fediverse client imply separating boosts in a separate tab, grouping them, base on content but also same link.
@lazarus Despite all the efforts with WayFarer there’s no way a machine of the era that runs MorphOS (eg my 800 MHz iBook) will ever be pleasant to browse the modern web.

I definitely believe the way forward (back 😅) is writing #GeminiProtocol browsers for all all platforms.

#IneverDoAnything but I would love one day as a pet project to write a Gemini browser for early Mac OS Classic . Don’t think there’s one yet ?
#IneverDoAnything but one thing I’d really want to build is a Fediverse client designed with real frequent use cases in mind.

For example if someone mentions an interesting, book, movie, app and in two taps you can save a copy of the post to several “todo” lists (to watch, read later).

Right now I use a separate category in my todo list app but it’s a bit tedious , at least from the phone. I guess it could be made with shortcuts but it’s never as simple as when it’s built in.
Phanpy also works in several browsers. However it feels sluggish on an i7 on #Haiku . The same app flies on an iPhone.

I am surprised nobody ever tried to build even a minimal native mastodon app for #Haiku . Putting that on my endless todo list that goes by the name of #IneverDoAnything
#IneverDoAnything anything but I really wish I had the energy to write my own Gemini clients. One native for #Haiku and an iOS one because that’s what I use. And of course I want them to focus more on the page subscription/ reading list features with opinionated layout showing how one should do it.
Someone should make an online map with the dots based on replies here.

Could be me but #IneverDoAnything https://mastodon.neilzone.co.uk/users/neil/statuses/114417156865197135
After migrating I don’t mind much losing 20k posts of me just babbling endlessly but there are quite a few posts I tagged with projects names and I would like to keep them as references for ideas etc.

Things like #atomique #MarxDawn #IneverDoAnything #HumanLinks posted with old account ( @[email protected] )

Maybe I should just write a script and keep them as text files in a folder ?

@kabootie Hm, I wonder how hard it would be to extract only the part that handles TLS and connections from this to build a pure Cocoa Gemini Browser for Tiger / Leopard.

At least these are pages that won’t kill your machines when loading.

Obviously filing this under #INeverDoAnything .

@kabootie I just love how Panther / Tiger felt. I sometimes want to go back to using this full time. That’s not possible notably because of the modern web & web apps of course.

#INeverDoAnything but I feel like firing Xcode 2.5(?) and writing a Gemini Browser in Objective-C (missing TLS would be an issue though so a proxy would be the easiest option).

@john I’d be fine if 20 people used it with me. I guess I need to make a few working prototypes first. This being said #INeverDoAnything :-)
