"Malice". Some U.S. jurisdictions, eg NY State establish the presence of malice, if the defendant's acts were committed out of *willful or depraved indifference to human life*. Then, even if the defendant didn't intend to harm (a) victim(s), s/he may be guilty of second degree murder.
