Details critical to the plot need to be conveyed, sure, but if hair colour, for example, is irrelevant, let the reader imagine what they will. Something in the story will have have triggered a memory for the reader--different, in every case--which will supply these details.

The reason why I am certain the third time's the charm is, in part, because of the #IkeaEffect. Back in 2009 and 2017, it wasn't as easy to deploy an instance as it is now. Now I am running my instance on my own server, on my own domain. I value my place in the #Fediverse much more because of it.
Add to that the fact that there are *a lot* more people here, with a whole lot of interesting perspectives and things to say, and I can't see being bored in the same way.
