Nurses deserve to be properly paid and not overworked, not because that will make healthcare better and safer for the rest of us (although it will), or because we owe it to them for all their work during the pandemic (although we do), but because they're human beings and therefore should have decent working conditions. Their job is one of the hardest in existence, and their treatment is disgraceful.
