Mayor Whitmire seeks expanded audit of city services to include TIRZ districts

In the wake of a corruption scandal, Houston Mayor John Whitmire wants to see an audit of the city’s 28 Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones. The city is set to approve $770,000 for the audits, which it will seek reimbursement for from the TIRZs.
