Mayor John Whitmire defends Houston Avenue median removals, targets ‘anti-car activists’

Whitmire said there was a misconception that Trinity Church, that sits at the corner of Houston and Washington Avenues and has long opposed the Houston Ave. project, had played a role in his decision to instruct public works to reverse the medians that were just installed.
