A department memo to police officers said it will remove the Sig Sauer firearm from a recommended list of duty weapons that officers are allowed to carry while working. Doug Griffith, president of the Houston Police Officers' Union, said the memo was sent out of an abundance of caution as allegations about the popular firearm are on the rise.
