Since I've mostly heard more than two decades old Government Alpha, I was quite curious when I picked up this brand-new CD on his Xerxes label, titled "Apophenia" — meaning, "the tendency to perceive meaningful connections between unrelated things." A rather curious title for a noise CD.

He is still super-loud, but it feels more composed and well... fancy. Not necessarily better, and certainly not worse. Just a master developing his style.

When people talk of "harsh noise" instead of just "noise", I mostly feel that it's redundant, but when I listen to Government Alpha, it's like the term was invented for him.
