Smith MD, AM on Instagram: "Yamaha 2021-2022 Drive2 Electric Fleet Golf Cars Have Defective Brakes The passenger-side brake cable has been misrouted during assembly causing it to wear prematurely and break during use creating a crash hazard. Affected: JOJ Drive2 AC-L and J5B Drive2 AC-L Li Fleet Golf Cars. About 8,650 golf cars were sold in the United States and about 700 were sold in Canada through Yamaha Golf Car dealers nationwide from March 2021 through September 2024. Stop using these recalled golf cars and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free inspection of the passenger-side brake cable routing. If the cable was misrouted, the dealer will replace it at no cost. If you cannot transport the golf car to a dealer, Yamaha will arrange transportation or perform the inspection and repair at the golf car’s location.
