Also, with #GoldenDictNG v26.5.0 from AUR on ChachyOS, you might get:
"goldendict: error while loading shared libraries: libopencc.so.1.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Do:
1. ls /usr/lib/libopencc*
If you don't see "libopencc.so.1.2", then:
2. cd /usr/lib/
3. sudo ln -s ./libopencc.so ./libopencc.so.1.2
One small addition to this workaround (for the latest v26.5.0). In a second script, you could omit the word parameter for it to act like the in-app option to show or hide the main window, and then assign a hotkey to that script in KDE Menu Editor. This will cover both the in-app hotkey options you'd normally set in #GoldenDictNG itself.
Also, with this version, you have to use the -m flag in the first script, or #GoldenDict will crash (i.e. goldendict -m "$(wl-paste --primary)")
Since currently the pop-up window functionality of GoldenDict-ng is kind of bugged on KDE, this script might help.
You'll need kdotool and wl-clipboard. Add the script to the KDE menu and set a global keyboard shortcut. The shortcut will also work if the clipboard is empty (just showing GoldenDict).
