（獨媒報導）中大民主女神像於2021年12月24日平安夜被校方突然搬走，自始再未重返校園。消失兩年的前夕，有中大學生冒嚴寒，周六晚（23日）到原址燃起蠟燭，預計悼念至凌晨。其中一位學生指，近年入學的中大學生都未曾見過民主女神像，亦未必知道「民女」是甚麼，希望透過「奇怪的存在」，讓本身知道民主女神像存在過的人，得知仍然有人在堅持。悼念期間，有保安拍攝學生和記者，又要求學生出示學生證。 嚴寒下悼念4小時 學生：寒冷是有意義的 三名中大學生在周六晚上9時正到「民女」原址燃起蠟燭，並圍坐悼念，預計進行4小時至凌晨1時。嚴寒之下，霜凍警告及寒冷天氣警告正生效，沙田區氣溫亦只有攝氏9度。學生阿雯指，為了悼念民主女神像，這種寒冷是有意義的，自己應要去感受。 男生JC表示，自己只是純粹點蠟燭悼念民主女神像，並沒有追求會有甚麼效果：「你點枝蠟燭，個民女又唔會返嚟嘅，只不過係想點枝蠟燭。」JC指，蠟燭將燃燒4小時，待燒盡後便會離去。 學生：近年入學新生未見過「民女」 望讓人得知仍有人堅持 阿雯認為，2021年後入學的中大學生都未曾見過民主女神像，亦未必知道是甚麼東西，希望透過「奇怪的存在」，讓本身知道民主女神像存在過的人，得知仍有人在堅持。另一女生Y則表示，自己未曾見過民主女神像，但對它的消失感到可惜，「我覺得我應該可以有呢個 possibility，但係我冇。
