“To Love the Dragon King” is the start of a new #Fantasy series by Antonia Aquilante. #MMRomance #gayBookReviews

Sascha was born without the Talent to shift into a dragon, so he was raised to believe his only value was to be offered up as a concubine to bring his parents money and powerful connections. As soon as he comes of age, Sascha is packed off to Lord Jannick, whom he has never met. His sense of foreboding proves to be well founded when he arrives at the isolated castle to be met by an unattractive and clearly cruel man. But Sascha doesn’t even have a chance to get to his room before the castle is overrun by the king’s guards, soon followed by the king himself. It seems that Lord Jannick was near the center of a plot to overthrow the king and discard a centuries-old tradition of secrecy that has kept the dragon kingdom safe. As a traitor, all of Jannick’s property, including Sascha, now belongs to the king.

Time for another tale from the Suitable ‘Verse with “A Suitable Brat” by R. Cooper. #Fantasy #MMRomance #gayBookReviews

Westin is an outguard but is getting too old for the life on the road, sometimes sleeping rough, especially in the cold. He has resolved to retire and return to his family’s estate. There’s just one problem: another outguard called Sun. Unlike most outguards like Westin, Sun’s brief is wide-ranging, so their paths often crossed. The much younger man has a sharp tongue and a way of getting Westin, or almost anyone, to do exactly what he wants, which includes sharing a bed. Westin indulges Sun because he believes the younger man deserves some pleasure in what Westin knows has been a rough life. Sun is what Westin will miss the most when he leaves the outguard, but he can’t believe the much younger man will want to follow him into the quiet life he anticipates after retiring.

He goes to college, meets Beck, who becomes his best friend, and leaves the Los Angeles neighborhood where gangs dominate. Years later, Diego and Beck are still roommates, but Diego wants to be more than friends. He resolves to discuss his feelings, but Beck’s work keeps getting in the way.

“Dauntless” is a mystery-romance set on an isolated Australian island written by J.A. Rock and Lisa Henry. #MMRomance #GayBookReviews

The residents of Dauntless Island are proud of their history as mutineers who lynched their tyrannical captain after being shipwrecked on the island 200 years ago. Joe is a direct descendant of the leader of the revolt and is well aware of the power that gives him on the island, although he is careful about how he exercises that control. Eddie is a history graduate student descended from the captain the mutineers lynched. He’s never set foot on the island, but he’s come into possession of a diary written by one of the sailors, which contradicts the story handed down by the islanders. Sparks are bound to fly when Eddie sets foot on the island, just not the ones anyone expects.

This week’s #SaturdayShort is “Gilded Cage of the Tentacled Elite” by Kit Luxe. #SciFi #Dystopian #MMRomance #gayBookReviews

The Galactic Alliance arrived on Earth with promises to make everything better, and they did, for some. Theo lives on the streets, outside the system. He eats food he finds discarded in dumpsters and sleeps in alleys well out of sight from the main streets. That’s to avoid the “sweepers” that round up homeless people. There are all sorts of stories about what happens to the humans collected by the alliance sweepers. One particularly cold night, Theo is starving when he stumbles on a box with food and warm blankets in it. Part of him knows it’s a trap, but Theo is so cold and so hungry that he falls into the clutches of the Alliance. He wakes to find himself in a vast warehouse where he is cleaned, collared, and purchased by one of the aliens to be a sexual plaything.

Two young men are thrown together on a space voyage full of mysteries in “The Darkness Outside Us” by Eliot Schrefer.
#SciFi #MMRomance

Ambrose wakes up on board his ship, and is told by the craft’s AI that he was injured during the launch and has been in a coma. He remembers all his training for this special mission to rescue his sister, who was sent to see if Saturn’s moon Titan could be colonized, but he doesn’t remember getting on board the ship or the accident that apparently injured him. There’s something else that’s concerning: Ambrose’s ship has been joined to another craft, that of his country’s primary competitor, and that ship is occupied by another spacefarer, Kodiak. The two young men must work together to unravel the mysteries and contradictions that seem to cloud their real mission.

Devlin is settling in on board the Chroalian ship Endeavor as Earth’s first ambassador. His boyfriend, Zal is in the cabin next door, but the two have to be discreet. If people knew of their prior relationship, it might undermine Devlin’s position. Their plan is to make it appear that the relationship started after Devlin came on board. Unfortunately, that means Devlin has to run a gauntlet of younger Chroalian crewmembers competing to bed the new human. That’s not the biggest challenge for Devlin. A series of incidents on board the ship and on the planets they visit are very suspicious.
