I think the vehement insistence that #gasranges and #gasstoves are superior is driven by two things.

1. Lack of a small skillset required to get good results with an electric range. Specifically, you can’t change temperature as fast, so a bit more looking ahead is needed.

2. A lot of people have invested big bucks on gas stoves that are marketed as professional (ostensibly prosumer), and their cooking-related ego is tied up with their purchase decision.
