Barn doors can help shape speedlight’s output
If you’ve ever been around large lighting rigs, such as spot lights, you’ve seen metal flaps on the front of the lamp.
These are known as “barn doors,” which help shape a light and restrict it.
We’ve talked about snoots and grids to shape light from speedlights, but there is a way to add barn doors to your speedlight.
Over on Petapixel.com, Nick Fancher shows how he took some foam board and gaffer’s tape to make a set of barn doors for his flash.
