The @LIGO Virgo KAGRA collaboration releases the largest gravitational-wave catalog, GWTC-5, with 161 new events, totaling 390 confirmed detections since 2015.

The catalog contains many astrophysical highlights: the gravitational-wave source with the most precise sky localization, the first measurement of three gravitational-wave tones from a black hole, evidence for the existence of second-generation black holes, and new measurements of how fast the Universe is expanding.

Die LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA-Kollaboration veröffentlicht GWTC-5, den bislang umfassendsten Gravitationswellen-Katalog. Er enthält 161 neue Ereignisse und erhöht damit die Gesamtzahl der seit 2015 nachgewiesenen Signale auf 390.

Der Katalog enthält viele astrophysikalische Highlights: die Gravitationswellen-Quelle mit der am genauesten bestimmten Ursprungsrichtung, die erste Messung von drei Gravitationswellen-Tönen eines Schwarzen Lochs, Hinweise auf die Existenz von Schwarzen Löchern der zweiten Generation sowie neue Messungen der Expansionsrate unseres Universums.
