The station has members from 7 planetary nations: 3 are suffering from hurricane & typhoon damage; 2 are embroiled in a war with the 6th. The seventh, nobody speaks of.

Now we face a more difficult question than what hue to paint the sky: do we seek to aid those we can on the planet? And if so, what about the war, and what about the mysterious seventh nation?

In the meantime, I painted a nice landscape of a planet I barely remember.

In one of the odder stops we’ve made (that’s saying something) we found ourselves in a space station, orbiting a well-developed but beleaguered planet, which had gone too long without a visit from home, restocking them & while onboard taking part in an arts & crafts celebration.

The Ruchiensÿr are bipedal, bilaterally symmetrical & like painting; they hailed us when as we settle in orbit to observe their planet. We brought over paper-like media & a selection~

The wall has a single gate, which is locked from both sides.

I am angry, although I do not know why. JJ is furious, although she doesn't know why either.

The babies won't stop crying.

I cannot remember whose babies they are. They are at least ours: they are not at all blocky. The animals here are as blocky as the terrain.

The other half of the team has put up a flag that consists only of more blocks.

I do not know what happened, and I am worried.

I confess I'm not certain what happened.

Not just in that manner where one gets confused about events - all of our records were wiped by a sudden pulse that shook the world approximately 15 days past. When that happened, many of us lost parts of our memory as well.

What I know: We are on a planet made of squares, blocks, & cubes.

Half of our team has moved to the other side of a wall-like construction and built a blocky wall between us.

So I was surprised to find Fin spending more time around me.

I don't hold myself apart - there aren't that many of us; it would be ridiculous. But as I said, we tend to be introverts here, and I'm no different.

I didn't notice it until he showed me the bath-house he’s just laid the foundation for.
Then I realized both how much time we'd been spending together & how much we already know about each other.

If we're stuck in the past, at least it's with friends.

There's a list tacked to the inside of our community building with everything we want to re-make, or recreate.

Pep has been methodically working through that list. We have to remind her to sleep & eat.

Today, we forgave ALL of her inattention: the running water is working again!

It's one thing to play at living in another era, but it's another to not be able to shower.

Lir offered to read the tea leaves again. I declined. I'm still a little worried about her last readings.

- because dragons, as a matter of course, are a matter of myth.

These particular ones have long hibernation cycles, are bout 7 meters long snout to tail at the largest, and do not quite breathe fire.

However, they have amazingly fierce claws and teeth, like meat, can fly, and drip acid from their mouths when hungry.

And, it seems, they're always hungry.

The issue — as I have said before — with our brief scan of a planet before sending down a survey team is that we miss things.

In this case, what we missed were dragons.

“Dragons,” Ospe insists — they need the quotes. Or dragon-likes, the way the things that fly around here are crow-likes.

But the thing is, dragons are mythical. There is no concern about this creature being mistaken for a living animal on a planet our people inhabit, except this one ~

If we were not on a mission — if we are indeed still on a mission — I might park the Pau in orbit here and leave her here until we were short on fuel.
This is not a place we can settle, and it’s not a place, as far as I can tell, where we’d want to negotiate. The local sentients are tool-using and have language. They are also draconic.

The smallest specimen we have seen was 5 meters long, and we’re fairly certain that was a juvenile. The largest~
