The Sanctuary of Men
One of the Most Significant Ancient Religious Centers in Anatolia
📍 Location & General Information
The Temple of Men is located in the district of Yalvaç, approximately 5 kilometers southeast of the ancient city of Antiokheia, on the slopes of Gemen Hill.
The sanctuary sits at an elevation of around 1,600 meters, offering panoramic views of the Antiokheia plain, as well as Lake Eğirdir and Lake Beyşehir.
The temple is dedicated to the Moon God Men—also referred to as Men Askaenos or Men Askaios—a deity with deep roots in the Phrygian and Pisidian regions.
This sacred area is defined as a religious complex centered around a temple built in honor of the ancient Anatolian Moon God Men.
It holds the distinction of being the only known urbanized religious center dedicated solely to the cult of Men.
