#VinylSky #FridaySpins Frank Zappa Lumpy Gravy (1968, Verve) The 1st non-Mothers album, in fact FZ doesn't play on it himself (contractual dodge.) His role was simply composer, arranger, conductor, producer, engineer, tape editor... Among the greatest albums of the 60s.

#VinylSky #FridaySpins Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 Herb Alpert Presents... (1966, A&M) I've been thinking about this LP since SM died in September. A terrific album. Herb definitely produced a Hollywood version of Bossa Nova. Still thoroughly enjoyable, and a much needed hit record for A&M.

Grooves In Orbit (1983, Bearsville)
They simply don't have a bad album. Every single one is super cool and wonderful. The LP has a locked groove on the end of a?... hillbilly giggle? Great!
