@doskel Are you seriously shitting on framwork. Who wants a non repairable non upgradable and worse for the environment laptop. I mean not my money so do whatever you want but you're not doing the #environment any favors and actively sabotaging repairability by continuing to support hostile manufacturers

Eine kurzweilige Partie #NovaLuna geht immer und ist auch nach so vielen Partien immer wieder spaßig. Insgesamt gefällt mir die Trilogie sehr gut und auch die anderen Teile #Sagani und #Framwork werden in Zukunft immer mal wieder auf dem Tisch landen. #Brettspiele

I read the framework risc-v more carefully, and I'm not super hyped anymore. This seems to be a third-party motherboard, framework is offering the chassis (and the audience), but work on the board is from a different company. Still exciting, just downsizing my excitement to the correct amount.

What I'm most worried about are the same worries I have with arm: long term support, mostly caused by custom boot processes (instead of using uefi or coreboot).

#Framwork gefällt mir und hat bei mir einen festen Platz in der Trilogie. Flott gespielt und mit interessanten Entscheidungen. Mal schauen ob es 2024 alle Rosenberg Spiele auf den Tisch schaffen. Als Hauptspeise eine weitere Partie #Skymines zu dritt. Interaktion nach meinem Geschmack. #Brettspiele

@athairbirb @PublicNuisance @ademalsasa #Framwork has a support forum which normally would be favorable but then they’ve jailed it in #Cloudflare. This means not only are people excluded from that forum but existence of it means support givers are brought into a #walledGarden where their support becomes exclusively reachable. If Framework had no forum at all, at least then an inclusive community could be formed.

@PublicNuisance @athairbirb @ademalsasa #Framwork says their laptop is “designed to last”. Well a very critical part of #futureProofing any updatable device (e.g. a laptop) is absence of #closedsourcesoftware. As soon as you have one non-free closed source component, the life of that device is inherently limited. The extent of that artificial limitation depends on which component.
