I've always felt the ending of this episode rather disturbing.
While O'Neill is in a young body, he still has decades more of life experience than his new peers. Clo'neill leering over the teenage students just feels wrong... I wish that the Asgard would've had to reset his memories as part of the gene fixing as well, so that it would be less of an old person in a young body thing.

"Ein kurzer Schnitt - ein kurzes Glück / Wie roter Samt - und kein Zurück"
( "A short cut - a short happiness / Like red velvet - and no return")

In "Blutrot" ("Blood red") by L'Âme Immortelle, pain becomes the last remaining way to feel at all. The blade and the blood function not merely as images of physical harm, but as metaphors for unspoken inner torment, an attempt to make silent suffering visible and communicable. Pain is aestheticized, described like "red velvet," transforming self-destruction into a bittersweet form of connection, suspended between control and loss.

At the same time, the song serves as a warning: the "inner fire" represents emotional forces that can consume everything if indulged too deeply. The seductive image of the blade reflects the danger of romanticizing destructive patterns. Ultimately, "Blutrot" portrays a fragile balance between pain as expression of the soul and the risk of being swallowed by the darkness it creates.
