It has been a long time since I've carved out time for anything like this, so I took a lot longer than five minutes, but it was worth it. The sun was out. Birds were singing. Animals skittered in the brush not wanting me to see them. It was bright as the deciduous trees still had no leaves but there were buds on the shrubs at the sides of the path, and right in front of me, a garter snake with long yellow stripes slithered off the trail. It was a good walk.
