@JamminJerry but yeah, I have #FastPlay as a default music player now.
All #FastPlay needs at this point, IMHO, is shell intigration. Starting to make it my main music pplayer, except that it does not seem to have shell intigration in windows.
@MewProjects my copy of #FastPlay on #Windows refuses to update. Have you recieved any other reports of this? How do you recommend I fix it?
@MewProjects I can't get #fastPlay to update & still cannot set it as my default under #Windows11. Any hints?
I’m aware that #FastPlay is a fantastic audio player and is rightfully getting rave reviews. I am clearly missing it but I’m wondering if someone can tell me if it able to play audio at 2 or 3 times speed. I often use QuickTime on the Mac to play audio double speed by using the J K and L keys and I’m looking for something similar on the PC. Does Fast Play do this? Thanks!!
wow, was playing around with #FastPlay a bit more, including creating global hotkeys. Somewhat off-putting that the c key does not act as a play/pause key, in that it just pauses the audio playing. Still thinking it would be cool to have a fade out hotkey, where the audio fades to stop. But yeah, control+shift is a good modifier combo for global hotkeys, imho. Plus, I was listening to a long speech, and the tempo effect came in handy.

OK so FastPlay for Windows now has a new tempo stretching algorithm called SignalSmith Stretch included in advanced, alongside the other included ones. I think it definitely sounds great for music. Downloads:

@MewProjects I'm not seeing an option to assign #FastPlay to play mp3 files. I looked in Windows settings as well as in the dialog which comes up when assigning a filetype to an app for the first time. As noted in an earlier post, I don't get the option for, "always" when I choose your app in the list. Any idea as to why & how to fix it, especially, now that you say that feature has been implemented?
@MewProjects i have a #FeatureRequest regarding #FastPlay. I'd love to see the ability to use it as my default media player on #Windows. I love using it on the mac. Is this something you'd be willing to implement?
@carrottop1023 @JamminJerry VLC and #FastPlay play .opus, also winamp if you get the free InOpus plugin
