Agree. At some point soon there will be polls on Fediverse. Some will be honest, others will be phishing for info.

They will ask people and admins whether they would #federate with a #Fakebook / #Birdsite server.

For the love of goodness, no one answer this question. They will use such info during the #NetworkWars. Do not give #BigTech that ability. They need to #dieInTheDarkness they created.

So In Summary, seems that all this censorship we are seeing is not just fb and twitter being weird, but is rather a concerted effort by someone to suppress and stifle independent non corporate media by limiting our ability to use he social networks.

3. both fb and twitter used similar language to justify the censorship - facebook accused people who they censored of engaging in "inauthentic" behavior and twitter accused us of "artificial amplification" and in both cases did not even explain what they mean by this, nor give us any indication what exactly we did that was artificial or inauthentic.

2. Also on October 11, both Wapo and NYT ran stories that framed the purge as geting rid of bots and spammers and "people who borrow pages from russian playbook"

I dont think the whole story is out though - the reason I am saying this is because.

1. Both facebook and Twitter censored a lot of people on October 11 (me and media collectives I am involved with were victims of twitter purge, not facebook mostly because we didnt really diffuse over fb as much as on twitter since fb generally limits who sees what you post too much unless you pay them)
