What does United Way do? A lot. We have many programs and projects at United Way of Lancaster County, but our two “biggies" are 211 and VITA.
If you have an acute emergency, you call 911. If you need help with food or housing or other social support needs, call 211 and our resource navigators will help to connect you with services in your community that can help.
VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program prepared over 10,000 income tax returns last year, for free! Last year, our volunteer tax preparers saved our neighbors $2.8 million in tax preparation fees and got people over $9.8 million in total refunds.

Today is the Extraordinary Give, my community's annual day of giving. Last year non profit organizations in Lancaster County collectively raised over $10 million on this day. As of right now, at 10:17a.m., today's total stands at about $2.3 million.
