Gig Review: Waterlines / Eschalon / Skies Turn Black – Boom, Leeds (31st May 2024)
Three bands of growing popularity are to treat us tonight at Boom Leeds. The venue has been a great place for grassroots musicians to reach new audiences and with the community coming together last year to stop its closure
Finally finished the whole Eschalon series. With cheats, of course. I'm in it for the story, not that terrible grind. It took long enough to walk everywhere, don't need to make it longer by having to level up too.
I did like the world building itself, but the ending was sorely disappointing. Didn't really feel quite fleshed out and it doesn't really matter what side you chose.
Book 1's ending was like 'oh whoa, the story goes in that direction? Heh neat.'
Book 2 was cool with the storyline and built up nicely. 'Wow, now I wanna play 3 to see how this pans out!'
Book 3 was '.. It's done already? We had this fight and then bam, done? No peeking at what happened to the world afterwards that you fought so hard for?! Meh.'
