It may seem like there's an unusual amount of volcanoes active right now, but we're within the norm of 40-50 erupting worldwide. The happenstance of a few near to enough people that it makes the news can make it feel like a lot, though!" (1/3)

"There actually isn't any more volcanism right now than is usual. Just seems like that thanks to our biased human perception (and uneven media coverage). Yellowstone is normal - this video is just our regular monthly update, released on the 1st of each month. "
