Lovely afternoon for a history hike on the #EnoRiver! In addition to our friendly and knowledgeable #EnoRiverAssociation guide, we were fortunate to have two local genealogy enthusiasts who had each traced their personal ancestry in the area back to the pre-Revolutionary War era. And of course it turned out that they were distantly related...

A wealth of local lore on a glorious sunny day - what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

This morning we made our first farmers' market run in a month! I packed up my Monuts for a bag lunch and headed over to the Friends of the #MountainsToSeaTrail Eno River trail workday and spent the morning helping move rocks and gravel and build erosion control for a reroute of the trail.
After a quick shower, @mbroome & I headed over to the #EnoRiverAssociation members meeting at the Confluence Natural Area - need to go back and hike those trails! - and then I took a detour to the #Festifall North Carolina Day on the way home... (You may start to notice a pattern here. 😇)

Sunshine, great people, conservation, and craft festivals - being retired has turned out a lot different from my vague pre-pandemic anticipation, and also I am loving it! 💖

I love autumn in the Triangle...

Thursday @mbroome and I spent the morning planting trees as part of an #EnoRiverAssociation reforestation project at Rocky Branch Conservation Area, and we got home just in time for a Planting for Pollinators lunchbox talk from the #NorthCarolinaBotanicalGarden.
I had a lovely dinner with my bestie from college, who ws visiting from Austin for a conference at SAS, and caught the Durham Night Market at #AmericanTobaccoCampus on my way home...
