What was the initial attributed function for the #Elongator complex ? The name comes from its putative association with RNA polymerase and it is still used, even if, just 6 years after the initial 1999 publication, it was shown that Elongator has a specific catalytic function in #tRNA modification. The story of Elongator is not over, as non-catalytic roles have been recently proposed.
