I’m trying out my first “ergonomic” keyboard. My Dygma Defy showed up earlier today. It is very weird to type on this thing. In the default layout, the keys are roughly where they should be, but of course are not exactly where they should be. The hardest key so far is not space as I expected, but the keys on the left-hand bottom row. XCVB are really hard to land on without landing on two of them at once. Or in the case of B, nothing at all.

I do really like the “split-ness” of it. Placing it at shoulder width right at the edge of the desk is really comfortable. I probably should have gotten the tenting version, but I figured this would be enough of a change to start with. I was right.

I'm disappointed to learn that
#DygmaLab (https://dygma.com) are in violation of Kaleidoscope's GPL license with their #DygmaDefy keyboard by refusing to make their firmware source code (which is derived from Kaleidoscope) available.
