Yep, changing the PSU of my #SEGA #Dreamcast fixed all issues it had. It can play games again. Did some more test runs and everything is fine. Very happy about it being revived and all.

So, if you have a Dreamcast that doesn't want to boot from disc *and* doesn't want to boot with a #GDEmu try replacing the PSU with a #DreamPSU.

Hoozah! My #Sega #Dreamcast looks to be fully operational again. Installed the #GDEmu today after having installed the #DreamPSU and it booted instantly. Hopefully it keeps doing this!

Got a 128GB SD card for it. Preparing it took a long time though.

Oh this looks promising. A couple of years ago I replaced the disc drive of my #Sega #Dreamcast with the #GDEmu. It worked for a while and then nothing. Eventually put back the original drive but that wouldn't read anything anymore either!

On a chance of faith I ordered the #DreamPSU as it was on sale. Installed it. First disc: couldn't be read. But that was a copy, so looked for another one and that played fine! Currently playing a music CD (yes, those still exist 😄).

So far it's looking good

I have added upgrades and modifications to my SEGA Dreamcast featuring a GDEMU for loading games from an SD Card as well as a modern PSU & far quieter fan.
