It boggles the mind how people can seriously believe a pet housecat can survive in the wild for extended periods of time, and not suffer tremendously and then perish.
It takes a lot of mice and critters to hunt in order to get sufficient nourishment. Somewhere I heard a stray/feral cat needs 8-15 mice a day, depending on sex and size. (!!)
They get sick easily, living in the outside elements, having no good shelter.
There are predators out to get them (coyotes in your country, for example).
And I am not even talking about the mental anguish for the poor cat ...
PSA: Do not abandon your cats in the wild! Find other, compassionate ways to rehome them!
