Dog update: She got a third dose of diuretic and things have improved, but not quite where they'd like. They're going to switch her to oral to make sure she tolerates them and keep her until tomorrow to see how things progress and monitor her. #dogsarecool
Dog update: She is responding somewhat to the medication. They've given her another dose to try to clear out more fluid so they'd be comfortable sending her home. #dogsarecool
If it does not work then there is nothing left to do unfortunately, and will have to plan on when her last day will be. Sad, but all things end and her life. #dogsarecool
Heart is quite enlarged and there is fluid in lungs. Trying a drug to see if it will work for the fluid and if so she will be on that the rest of her life. This is not unexpected, exactly as I expected due to her age. #dogsarecool
Dog update: Collapsed while walking this morning and lost consciousness for 30 seconds. Slowly came back. Now at vet. Stable, getting xrays to see state of heart and lungs. Course of action will depend on that. #dogsarecool
Dog update: Growth on her lip has shrunk/healed/hasn't bled in a week. Cancelled removal appointment for now since it's no longer a problem and not bothering her! #dogsarecool
Dog update: Mass on lip is not healing up, in fact she caught it again and split it open a bit. Email sent about removal! #dogsarecool
A mass on my dog's inner lip was damaged and bled due to catching it whilst eating. Went to the vet to get it checked out and a sample was taken for cytology. Looked up the service being used and discovered that OF COURSE THEY'VE CRAMMED AI INTO IT FOR SAMPLE ANALYSIS. Thankfully no AI used for my dog's sample, images were sent to a person to review. Not even my dog is safe from AI it seems when it comes to her health. Oh, the mass is benign - monitoring it for 2 weeks to see if it improves, if not then get to explore removal options. #dogsarecool
My dog has cold filtered water inside but that is insufficient for her. Instead of drinking it she will come to me, glare to be let out, and then just lick snow after which she will demand to come back in. #dogsarecool
