We found an unusual gold portable DCC-170 recorder in Japan. Let's see what the differences are with a regular DCC-170, and make it work by changing the belt.

The DCC771 double deck #DigitalCompactCassette recorder was apparently already in pre-production in 1996 when #DCC was canceled, so it was never officially released.

Internally, it's a lot like the FW68 mini set, with an analog cassette deck as well as a 3rd generation DCC deck. The DCC771 that's owned by the DCC Museum has quite a story to it. Watch this week's video for more.

Colin at the "This Does Not Compute" (@thisdoesnotcomp) YouTube channel bought some DCC-900 #DigitalCompactCassette recorders in 2021 but unfortunately his experience was... less than optimal.

When we released the new PW03 read/write board replacement, we reached out to him about it, and guess what: He already knew!

He posted a new video with the full story, and with high praise for the DCC Museum, #DCC in general, and best of all: The DCC community.

Thanks Colin!
