Digital badges are yet another unnecessary scheme designed to help academics and the education/training sector make money.
Personally, I believe the real problem of unrecognised skills lies largely with job-filtering gatekeepers and interviewers, not with a lack of credentials.
Digital Badging is, sadly, IMHO, is not a solution.
