I recently rewatched the first season of "Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die neue These". I love the Empire roleplaying the "German Kaiserreich", like they aren't just inspired by it, they built their empire in it's image. Their cities look like the cliche of a German, late medival city. They have names that sound like German royalty, but from the 18th century. It's all a bit off. And it gives off the image of an empire living in nostalgia for the "good old times", none of them experienced, because it was centuries ago.
