Of course, not everything in the underworld is gloomy and dangerous...there are some stunningly beautiful places with almost 0 monster activity.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

In my novel, (as I've mentioned) there are several generations of supernatural beings; starting with the Lovecraftian style Great Ones and up the family tree to the Ledra (gods of the Apparent World) the 4th gen are the less magical but still powerful #yokai like beings with the 5th gen having only one form and the flaw of being killable...the Parvi.... vampires and such... poor poor Parvi
#DepartmentOfGods These cultists differ, of course (and range anywhere from outright mockery to mild distain of) normal human religions because they know (and can contact) their deities. Non-cultists believe in in false gods, practice ridiculous faiths and all...without fail...end up in the Gax (the underworld) Only too late realizing their lives were a lie.
#DepartmentOfGods All cultists, however know and have read (at least once) the Yag Tarab

As there are many gods from which to choose, the holy garments and objects differ from shrine to shrine
#DepartmentOfGods In my novel, there is indeed an #eldritch cult which predates history but it has developed into a modern and sophisticated faith! While some of the cultists are still eating flesh and sacrificing humans, most moderns practice substitutional offerings. These faithful don't fight amoungst themselves but accept that there are many ways to honor the gods. There are essentially two factions; the Yigi and the Girai. The Yigi offer blood while the Girai offer wine...

In my novel, the deity of the wild (Toz) has a mobile, never ending festival. If the Toha happens upon a mortal in the middle of the forest... that mortal is given the opportunity to join the party.... forever...

In my novel, there are many "lesser" divine beings, but the 3 principle (if you look at earlier posts) are the Kral (water spirits) the Khynd (forest spirits) and I wanted another race too so I added the Eb. They're reptilian fire spirits and quite lovely πŸ˜ƒβ€οΈπŸ”₯πŸ¦ŽπŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»
You may have noticed a snakey trendπŸ˜†πŸ˜† In my cosmology, the main deity, his progenitor and it's progenitor are serpentine in nature, so all my goblins, fairies #yokai #jinn etc have reptilian features.❀️❀️❀️🐍🦎🌊πŸ”₯πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

The cosmology of my book is quite complex but I'll be sharing a rough sketch hereπŸ˜ƒ

There are other gods in my book that have secret and eldritch origins but who have made it into muggle mythology...Toz is the god and protector of the wilds...but humans call him Pan, Ganesh or Coyote
