Since 2016, I've attempted to post a doll or toy photo every day in October under the tag #31DaysOfDolloween . Some years I do a theme or storyline, some years I tap out after four days.

This year, the theme is:

"oh no why do I have so many unopened toys, I keep buying more and they keep accumulating, do I even have space to display these"

Any toys I don't manage to photograph this month will be featured in my other photo challenge, #DecemberDollyDays, which coincidentally has the same theme!

#DecemberDollyDays Day 31: #MonsterHigh presents Jack Skellington and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas! Rather than perfectly reproducing their movie looks, these dolls and their fashions have been reimagined in Monster High style.

The box is very fancy, with a sleeve covering an inner box with a clear window on the front.
The set comes with two doll stands. The one for Jack has a much longer post to accommodate his height but the waist clip is the same size as Sally's...

#DecemberDollyDays Day 30: Target Exclusive Pink Western Barbie, which I ended up buying on eBay for more than it would have cost at retail ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

She is gorgeous, though. She doesn't have as much plastic wrap protection as Ken, presumably because the pink fabric is less likely to stain her than the black fabric used in Ken's outfit.

Like Western Ken, she comes with a stand, although her stand is smaller than Ken's.

#DecemberDollyDays Day 29: I was able to pre-order the Target-exclusive Western Ken without much difficulty. The pink Western Barbie, on the other hand, was sold out in pre-orders and I ended up buying her on eBay once her official release date arrived and it was clear that my local Target wouldn't be getting her in stock.

I was surprised and impressed by the amount of thin flexible plastic protecting Ken from getting stained by his dark clothes.

#DecemberDollyDays Day 28: When my husband found Rollerblading Ken at our local Walmart, I immediately checked the website in case Rollerblading Barbie was also available. The Rollerblading Barbie and Ken were exclusive to Walmart, but I had never managed to find them in stock...until that day, when I was able to buy one and have it shipped.
In the movie, the Rollerblading scene is the first moment that Barbie feels objectified. It's a great outfit but it's an awful moment for Barbie.

#DecemberDollyDays Day 27: I remember exactly when I got this Ken. It was the Monday before we were going to visit my husband's parents for Thanksgiving, and I felt unwell and feverish. I asked my husband to pick up some COVID-19 antigen tests on his way home from work. They were all sold out, but he did find this Rollerblading Ken from the Barbie Movie, so I asked him to get it (and go to a pharmacy that *did* have tests in stock).

The wheels really roll! And come off?!

#DecemberDollyDays Day 26: Hi Ken!

There was a Beach Ken released alongside the pink gingham Barbie, but I ended up skipping him in favour of this denim-clad beauty. He's actually wearing underwear! With "Ken" printed on the waistband! How could I not get him?

I'm not convinced that he looks especially like actor Ryan Gosling but I do find his side-glancing expression charming.

Unlike Pink Gingham Barbie, he comes with a stand. (Playline vs. Collector line?)

#DecemberDollyDays Day 25: This Barbie came with a popcorn tub in the shape of a pink convertible. More accurately, it's a pink convertible car and you can pull out the seats and pour in popcorn.

I got it at the Barbie Movie premiere hoping that doll that came with the popcorn might be in some way unique or exclusive, but as far as I can tell, it's identical to the retail release of this iconic Stereotypical Barbie.

#DecemberDollyDays Day 24:

When I ordered White Jumpsuit Ken from Mattel's website, I also ordered the Barbie Looks Ken with Purple Tanktop, partially to get free shipping but also because I was hoping to check on whether they had different headmolds. Imagine my shock when my package from Mattel arrived with only this Ken in the box!

Anyway, this Ken has the Made to Move body, which is unreasonably well-articulated for something that costs less than $30 USD.

#DecemberDollyDays Day 23: He's Ken!

I was thrilled when I found out Simu Liu would be playing Ken in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie along with a host of other talented actors.

I had my doubts as to whether Mattel would release the non-Ryan Gosling Kens in the toy line. Indeed, this particular Ken was exclusive to Mattel's online shop and not sold at regular retail. I managed to order one before they sold out, but due to TROUBLE I ended up having to get this one off of eBay. #MaleDolls
