It's soon the last week of september, which is the International Week of the Deaf. Because of this there's a bit more Deaf Culture awareness over here, and that's how I learned about the new Deaf Flag;
A few months back in July, the World Federation of the Deaf introduced the official flag of the Sign language community and Deaf people.
The flag was designed by the Deafblind artist Arnaud Balard in 2013. I do like his straightforward explanation on his design of the flag and also of his other artwork in this video:

(I find it interesting that I can mostly understand his French Sign Language (LSF), I know NGT (Dutch) and ASL (American), both descended from LSF. π)
I like the design. It's a pretty damn clear hand shape right there, can't miss it! I am not fond of the color turquoise myself, but with this design it ain't half bad. Though most images I find online seem to show light blue rather than turquoise.
