Back in the darkroom tonight! Been a good while! It was a bit of a calamity and I was out of practice but still lots of fun! I made 2 prints from the same roll. Some Adox CHS 100 ii developed in 510-Pyro. Prints are on Ilford MGRC paper and I used Ansco 130 for my paper developer.

The print pictured is from last year's Halloween underwater pumpkin carving contest with @divemasterssa at the Comal River (which, by the way, was a ton of fun and I hope we have an even bigger showing this coming Halloween). I've been wanting to print this one for a while. I would consider what I ended up with a solid work print, but it's got a bit of work still. The handlebars on the stairway into the water tend to get lost if I expose the water down to where I want. I'm hoping I can maneuver around that a bit with some split grading though the tones in parts of the railing are similar to the water. The sidewalk printed beautifully - a testament to 510-Pyro doing what 510-Pyro does I think.

Fun short darkroom session tonight! My main goal was to do some testing of my Simpleasels but I also managed to make a quick print from our Summer trip. That is of the Golden Gate bridge as we were passing underneath it when starting our cruise to Alaska. Straight print using a #2 filter on Ilford MGRC Portfolio paper. If I were doing a larger print, such as an 8x10, I might look at doing some minor dodging/burning but I find that can be difficult to do on 4x6. Still I'm rather happy with it!

The testing of the easels went great! The yellow and white bases seem to perform the same when doing density tests and neither show any print-through for the gridlines. In hindsight I could have done a bit more controlled tests with step wedges and I still might, but I think given these results, I'm pretty confident in offering grinlines as an option for all the easels. Sweet!
