French actor and producer Daniel Cauchy became a familiar face of post-war French cinema through crime films, comedies and adventure productions of the 1950s and 1960s. He is especially remembered for Bob le flambeur, Touchez pas au grisbi and Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez, remaining a recognizable supporting presence in classic French cinema for decades.
