To my #FreeBSD friends, have you tried #DSBMixer ?
It’s a tabbed #Qt #mixer. That opens a tab for each installed mixer device. It allows you to configure various #sound settings, like amplification, recording sources, or the default #audio device.
Even when a USB sound card is being added or removed, as long as the DSBMixer was built with devd support.
